Nordine MORCHID
Student at IÉSEG, MIT and Harvard University, recipient of a Ouverture Sociale (Social openness/diversity) - Excellence Scholarship
Nothing predestined me to succeed. The son of immigrants who came to France at the age of 16 in the hope of a better life, I grew up in neighbourhoods that are still associated with delinquency and violence. Where so many people choose to look away, the IÉSEG Foundation was able to brave the shadows of this glass ceiling and open doors to an ambitious future for me. Financial constraints stifle ambition, forcing you to give up before you've even dared to dream. Today, this scholarship has enabled me to study at Harvard and MIT, so yes, even for those who are forgotten, excellence is never out of reach. For a long time, equal opportunities was intended to remain a myth whispered in hushed circles, a chimerical ideal that I had only ever seen in words.
I saw the truth in my parents' wrinkles, hollowed out by years of work in the factory, in their eyes whose glow was nothing more than the ashes of a dream from the past. An idea brandished to appease the masses, but fading in the face of its reality. The value of the Foundation lies precisely in this break with the past: this notion of equal opportunities is no longer what the Foundation wants today: it wants to be concrete, it no longer proclaims itself, it acts. To the donors of the IÉSEG Foundation, I would like to say: ‘Dear donor, I don't know your face or your name, and yet you have changed my life. For many people, a donation is a refuge for good deeds, a way - depending on the amount - of letting go of our shortcomings. Investing in the education of someone you'll probably never see is the opposite of that. There's no comfort there, no immediate satisfaction, just the pure act, detached from any redemption. You have chosen to invest in the invisible, in a faceless future, and that is precisely the greatness of your gift. You sowed without knowing whether the harvest would come, and yet it has blossomed. To the future recipients of an IÉSEG Foundation scholarship, understand that it is up to you to choose your identity. The world may dictate many things to you, but you are free to make your own choices. You are not what anyone thinks of you, nor what anyone accepts of you. Choose a destiny that is not condemned by those of your equals. You are neither the shadows cast by their eyes, nor the limits drawn by their words. You are a force in the making, a blank page that no one else can write. This scholarship is the impetus that frees you from the invisible shackles that have been holding you back. So I implore you, be greater than expectations, stronger than doubts, and above all, be completely fully yourself.

IÉSEG student, recipient of a Social Openness - Equal Opportunities grant
Receiving an Equal Opportunities grant will enable me to pursue my studies with greater financial peace of mind and to invest more in my personal and professional development. The creation of the Foundation symbolizes our commitment to equal opportunities and access to education for all. It demonstrates our desire to support the next generation of professionals. I would like to express my gratitude to the donors for their generosity and their passion for a world where education is a tool for a better future. Thanks to their contribution, many students, like me, are able to realize their ambitions and desires. My message is to seize this opportunity with enthusiasm and conviction. A grant from the Foundation is not just financial support, but also a way of developing your potential. It is essential to work hard and give your best.
Imen ZORGATI
IÉSEG student, recipient of a Social Openness - Entrepreneurship grant
Thanks to the IÉSEG Foundation, I was able to benefit from the Entrepreneurship grant. For me, this means that every year IÉSEG invests in and strives to provide better support for its student entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurship is a field where you can quickly feel alone and detached from the world. Knowing that the school is there to support us is important to me. The development of the IÉSEG Foundation is a message of solidarity and confidence. Indeed, the fact that alumni are making donations for the benefit of the new generation sounds to me like a message of confidence in the construction of a new generation: THANK YOU for trusting us! Your donations are change makers for some of us and we owe it to ourselves to use them wisely.
